Open Access Policy

1. Commitment to Diamond Open Access

The Indo-Eurasian Journal of Thermal Engineering and Materials Science (IJTEMS) is a fully Diamond Open Access journal. We adhere strictly to the definition of Open Access as defined by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).

This means that all articles published in IJTEMS are made freely available to the public immediately upon publication, without any embargo period.

  • No Subscription Fees: Readers, libraries, and institutions can access all content for free.

  • No Registration Required: Users do not need to register to read or download full-text PDFs.

  • No Author Fees: There are absolutely no Article Processing Charges (APCs) or submission fees.

We believe that peer-reviewed research is a global public good. By removing financial barriers, we facilitate a faster and more equitable exchange of knowledge across the globe.

2. Licensing (CC-BY 4.0)

To ensure maximum dissemination and use of research, all articles in IJTEMS are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under this license:

  • Share: Anyone is free to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.

  • Adapt: Anyone is free to remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.

  • Attribution: The user must give appropriate credit to the original author(s) and the source (IJTEMS), provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.

This license allows for the broadest possible dissemination of scientific work while ensuring authors receive credit for their intellectual contribution.

3. Copyright Retention

Unlike traditional subscription journals, authors retain full copyright of their work published in IJTEMS.

  • Authors grant IJTEMS a license to publish the article and identify itself as the original publisher.

  • Authors retain the patent, trademark, and other intellectual property rights (including research data).

  • Authors are free to use their own articles for educational purposes, book chapters, or institutional repositories without seeking permission from the journal.

4. Self-Archiving Policy (Green Open Access)

IJTEMS supports the "Green Open Access" route (Self-Archiving) to maximize the visibility of your research. Authors are explicitly permitted and encouraged to deposit versions of their work in institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, or personal websites.

  • Pre-print: Authors may share the submitted version before peer review.

  • Post-print: Authors may share the accepted manuscript after peer review.

  • Publisher's Version (PDF): Authors may share the final published PDF immediately after publication.

Note: When archiving, authors are requested to include a link (DOI) to the published article on the IJTEMS website.

5. Permanency of Content

All articles published in IJTEMS receive a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring they are permanently findable. The journal utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries, ensuring the long-term preservation of the journal’s content.
